Legends Of The Fall (1994). I found out about this film through the music, and the music is unmistakably beautiful. Stunning shots of the Montana wilderness, and thoroughly epic – LOTF is not held in the regard it ought to be. An all star ensemble of Quinn, Hopkins and Pitt add star quality to the family drama that unfurls through the ages. Dealing with love, rivaly, war – the film ebbs and flows between seeming futility and potential hope – the film tracks the Ludlow’s life from start to end. Rightly winning the Academy Award for Cinematography, the film is a perfect Sunday afternoon film and definitely worth watching. In the meantime, get on Spotify, shut your eyes and listen to the soundtrack – it’s phenomenal.
